A damaged footpath near a Koramangala housing society prompted resident and entrepreneur Siddharth Dialani to fund a repair himself.
According to NDTV’s report, the BharatAgri founder said he had repeatedly contacted civic authorities about the damaged stretch. After receiving no response, he spent ₹2,700 on labour and cement to construct a ramp.
Dialani shared before-and-after photographs on social media. He said the repair was intended to make accessing the footpath easier for parents pushing strollers and older people using wheelchairs.
The footpath near my society at Koramangala has been broken since years!
I complained to BBMP, sent email to GBA, raised ticket and chatted with their WA helpline but got no response.
Finally, decided to fix it myself.
It costed me Rs. 2700 including labor charges and the cement to build a ramp.
Parents with stroller and senior citizens on wheelchair can use it conveniently now.
His post also invited others to work together on similar improvements across Bengaluru. The report presents the repair and expenditure as Dialani’s account; it does not provide an independent accessibility assessment or name his housing society.
GoodHood Take: Everyday accessibility deserves attention in the spaces around our homes. This resident’s effort highlights how noticing a difficulty faced by neighbours can become the starting point for a practical community improvement.
